Ant Movie Catalog Plugin

I’ve been looking for a convenient way to organise my movie collection for a long time, until I finally found Ant Movie Catalog. The only feature I miss is the ability to organise them online. That’s where this plugin is supposed to jump in and fill the gap.This plugin is far from perfect or complete, but I try to continue the development. Right now it only lists the movies in your database, there is no possibility to add/edit/remove a movie (yet).

Prepare your Ant Movie Catalog

  1. open your ant movie catalog
  2. file -> save as… choose “XML” instead of “.amc”
  3. on the next messagebox, press “OK” to export your posters (images) to the selected path
  4. upload the xml-file and all images to your webserver
  5. install the plugin and set the correct path in the options tab
  6. done!

Installation

  1. upload the file wp-amc.php to the directory /wp-content/plugins/
  2. activate the plugin
  3. visit the options page and enter the needed settings
  4. create a new page and choose a good name (e.g. “My DVDs”)
  5. enter the html edit mode and insert the snippet <!-- amcplugin -->
  6. done!

Requirements

  • Wordpress (tested with v2.0.x – v2.3.1)

  • in php.ini: “allow_url_fopen = On”

  • add / modify / delete movies
  • lend movie to someone

    Hallo,

    Vielen Dank für dieses Plugin. Genau das, was ich suche. Leider kann ich es nicht aktivieren, da es einen fatalen Fehler erzeugt, wenn ich das in Wordpress 2.3 versuche.

    Fehler:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /homepages/43/d191184387/htdocs/thebastianonline/wp-content/plugins/wp-amc.php on line 333

    Könntest Du da eventuell mal schauen?

    Ich werde das Problem am Montag einmal anschauen, vorher komme ich leider nicht dazu. Ich selbst habe es noch nicht unter WordPress 2.3 getestet, wird aber höchste Zeit ;-)

    Habe das Plugin unter WordPress 2.3.1 getestet und es funktioniert einwandfrei.

    Hi, thanx for the plugin, i’d looking for something like that for a long time.
    But, I had no success with configure it. always the same errors:
    “Warning: simplexml_load_file() [function.simplexml-load-file]: http://barikad.info/amc/base.xml:204: parser error : invalid character in attribute value in /homepages/40/d139930508/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-amc.php on line 250″

    Hi Joachim

    I just had the time to have a quick look at your xml file. It seems that your movie “201″ contains invalid characters. there seems to be some kind of javascript inside the movie’s description. try to remove these code lines and retry it. let me know if it worked.
